Mother’s Day Wine Tasting Party

“My only regret in life is that I did not drink more wine.” – Ernest Hemingway

Who doesn’t’ love a good glass of wine? Mix it up this year and host a wine tasting party for Mom’s Nite Out! Whether you consider yourself a wine connoisseur or not, hosting a wine tasting party is relatively easy. Here are some ideas to help you plan your party:

Theme – Apply a theme to your wine tasting party to add excitement and really capture everyone’s imaginations.  Explore wines from different cultures (Spanish, Italian, Australian, etc.) and pair them with traditional foods to bring your wine party to life.

Games – Incorporate a game or two into your party to familiarize your guests with one another, such as Price Wars or Wine Pull. For Price Wars, have your guests taste the wines blind and then rank them high to low by price, along with their reasons why and which one they preferred the most. Everyone will be surprised to find which wines ranked low and which ones ranked high. For Wine Pull, mix expensive bottles of wine with cheaper bottles and wrap in paper that will go along with your theme (newspaper could also work). Let guests choose their own bottle and see who gets what!

Whatever type of wine tasting party you decide to have, keep one thing in mind: have fun. Don’t take it too seriously! Your party is sure to be a success no matter what.Red wine pouring into wine glass, close-up
